The Pomeranze Kaffeebar is located in the Berlin Schillerkiez area of Neukölln, a very hip neighbourhood. The Cafe is named Pomeranze, the bitter orange or a naive girl from the country, which means the return to old recipes, seasonal products and regional producers.
At Pomeranze Kaffeebar vegetables are bought from the sustainable producer PlantAge and the Cafe also works together with the organic wholesaler Terra. The coffee is purchased from the Tempelhof roasting plant Andraschko. There are no far-travelled products such as avocados and oranges on the menu – instead you get a delicious apple juice from a Brandenburg mostery.
The Cafe uses some chocolate, vanilla and cinnamon for baking – in the end, it it all about conscious consumption. The desire to know where the food comes from is also accompanied by an interest in gardening. You too can become an urban gardener in a small area – the windowsill or balcony. Practical gardening utensils – balcony supplies – can be found in the Concept Store.
Conscious consumption and sustainability run like a red thread through the Pomeranze Kaffeebar concept. This means that outwardly, the return to one’s balcony garden and the regional product variety, behind the counter there is the goal of producing as little waste as possible. “Zero waste” is the long-term goal. On the way to this goal Pomeranze Kaffeebar would like to take a new, resource-saving path (no single use products, predominantly “plant-based” meals, shopping without packaging if possible, wine from the barrel, etc.)
Pomeranze Kaffeebar is a cozy and friendly Cafe in Berlin Neukölln which has comfortable chairs to get some work done for a few hours. Our favourite part about Pomeranze Pomeranze Kaffeebar are the lovely snacks and cakes baked from local and sustainable ingredients.
